People don't wanna go to stylists, and I understand their hesitation. These ghetto actin' faux stylist price gougers are unprofessional in every possible way; throwing up red flags before you even book an appointment with them. They don't care about the client they nickel and dime up the wazoo (i.e. $80 late fee when the stylist was late, not the customer), they don't care at all about general hair health (i.e. "come with your hair already washed, conditioned, blow dried, and silk pressed"), and when was the last time they even thought about taking pride in their work? I'll just learn to do all the things myself, thank you. And I'm probably going to the same school they go to: UA-cam University!

I honestly have to say I’ve experienced what you are saying in your video but from the client aspect, the clients that I’ve had have been unappreciative totally disrespectful towards my time my craft my space and I have done celebrity clients and it’s terrible to say they are the majority of the difficult customer it literally left me taking a break from make up I will travel for my client at times not even charging a fee I don’t charge for every little thing the make up I charge is a flat rate, depending on what it is that you’re getting I have showed up to locations and the environment was unsafe there’s an entourage of people there with out me knowing that wading the service agreement I have been asked to clean up or go over other artist work and I don’t do that I have had clients where I said please there’s no smoking no cursing this is a Christian/family base service environment and they have come totally disrespectful so I do agree with what you’re saying towards some of these service professionals but sometimes the client is just as terrible when you keep coming across nonprofessional service providers your heart gets hard, but it’s the same thing when you come across poor behavioral disrespectful Clients if you’ve been coming to me since 2019 and we’re in 2024 my prices are not gonna stay the same. It may go up slightly and if you keep coming to me, you enjoy the service in the outcome of the why do you keep complaining about my prices, why do you keep cheating on me with other make up artist and then want me to fix what they did wrong would you like it if your partner cheated on you and came home with a hickey and then asked you to cover it up ??????? ??????????

Now let’s talk about my profession be completely honest y’all created these false narratives of Mua a make up part is it’s totally different than a Mua Mua. Is someone who self taught with no license knowledge or professionalism to their skill make up artist is someone that has the knowledge the license to back them up, they are a esthetician they were toured theory, skin care, tones, techniques, and application because we allowed UA-cam to fester a group of nonprofessional artist When I was coming up as a new make up artist, I wasn’t allowed to touch a client until I passed every proportion of theory shadow mentors that have been in the industry for years with high end clients and learned the skill to customer service and professionalism as well as perfecting our artistry Now for pricing I have done all types of clients makeup. My price are not based off of the status of the person, but the quantity of the job skill set of the type of make up. I’m doing it based off travel is based off of time it has nothing to do with my kid has nothing to do with the status of the client. But I’m also going to say sometimes the client makes it’s hard to service And it’s not always on us. Sometimes y’all show up extremely late multiple times to multiple different appointments booked with out a late fee charged. you book at the last minute you complain about the pricing you don’t know what you want. You Don’t respect the environment that you’re in according to the wishes of the artist Sometimes you request looks that clearly the make up artist is telling you I can do alternate due to the structure of your face. Everyone’s bone structure is different. It’s not gonna come out exactly like your favorite celebrity picture. Will it be equal to? Yes but not exactly the same if you don’t have the same bone structure , you never want consultation so we can discuss the desired look and desire request So I do feel sometimes it falls on both parties the client in the artist but to sum this up stop booking non-make up artist and wanting license behavior, customer service and skills you pay for what you get

Stylist should ask if you don’t mind if they take a picture for their portfolio but you should never feel obligated to have to take a picture. Thats just like someone has alopecia or bad edges they may not want everyone to see that so out of respect at least ask before just recording and posting.

Even when I go out with friends and we get 1 bill since I’m the 1 who does most of the planning I always pay for it on my card and tell everyone to cash app or Apple Pay me but somehow I always end up coming shorted by someone somehow.
